When the world's most valuable luxury house meets the planet's most obsessive Porsche restomodder, the result could only be exceptional. Here is the breakdown of the Louis Vuitton x Singer Porsche 911 collaboration, two unique pieces unveiled at Pebble Beach.

A first in 172 years of Louis Vuitton?

The event is far from anecdotal in the microcosm of automotive luxury. Singer and Louis Vuitton unveiled two unique Porsche 911s, from the air-cooled 964 generation. Louis Vuitton dressed the cabins in its leather and supplied matching one-of-a-kind luggage.

What immediately stands out is the symbolic reach of the operation. These cars are the first co-branded products in the 172-year history of Louis Vuitton, which shows just how much the House trusts Singer. In other words, never before had the Parisian leather goods maker agreed to place its name alongside another brand on a finished product.

The presentation took place in the most prestigious setting imaginable for this kind of exercise. From Monterey, California, on August 12, 2026, Louis Vuitton and Singer, the California workshop renowned for its highly personalized restorations of classic Porsche 911s, jointly revealed these two extraordinary cars.

How did such a project come about?

The origin story is worth telling, because it illuminates the project's DNA. The bespoke automotive workshop, founded in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, former singer of the English alternative rock band Catherine Wheel, wanted to commission a detachable dashboard clock based on Vuitton's signature Tambour watch.

From that one-off request a total project was born. Originally, the idea was for Louis Vuitton to create a detachable mechanical timepiece, inspired by the brand's famous Tambour watch, which could also transform into a desk clock. Then the ambition overflowed beyond a single dial: what started as merely a clock turned into a reinvention, by the House's designers, of every detail of the dashboard (including the speedometer, tachometer and gauges) to ensure they matched the lines of the Tambour.

The involvement ended up mobilizing the entire house. Every department of Louis Vuitton contributed to this unprecedented cross-disciplinary undertaking, from trunk makers to leather goods artisans, through the fashion and footwear teams, and even the watchmakers of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, says Jean Arnault.

What are the two Porsche 911s that were unveiled?

The duo is anything but a simple copy-and-paste. Each car tells a different story.

The Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer Classic sports Louis Vuitton's saffron and cobalt blue color scheme on a carbon fiber body and carries a vintage-style roof rack to underline its grand touring vocation. According to Singer, this first car features an exclusive livery in the House's emblematic colors (saffron, cobalt blue and yellow), specially designed with and for Louis Vuitton.

The second adopts a completely different atmosphere, under the direction of Nicolas Ghesquiere. This Turbo cabriolet heads in a different direction, in ivory white with precious wood veneers that evoke classic runabouts and West Coast beach culture. The inspiration: to recreate a unique supercharged cabriolet inspired by the elegance of classic speedboats and the freedom of the Californian outdoor lifestyle.

Interesting detail about production: the Classic model was built at the company's California site, while the Classic Turbo was manufactured at Singer's British premises.

What are these Singers worth under the hood?

Louis Vuitton and Singer did not disclose the precise mechanical specifications of these two unique pieces. We can, however, rely on the usual powertrains of the Singer range to gauge the level of performance.

  • Shared base and construction: starting platform Porsche 911 type 964 (1990 to 1994), fully stripped down and rebuilt, with a body made of carbon fiber panels (front fenders, hood, doors, rear quarters, bumpers).
  • Classic powertrain (naturally aspirated): a 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six producing 390 horsepower, built by Ed Pink Racing Engines, close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox optional, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and adjustable Ohlins dampers optional.
  • Classic Turbo powertrain: a supercharged flat-six, still air-cooled, 3.8 liters delivering 510 horsepower with the help of two turbochargers, power staying at the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • Announced performance: these reinterpretations of a classic 911 can dispatch 0 to 60 mph (0-97 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds.

Some Turbo Study configurations are moreover announced at 450 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque with the 3.8 L twin-turbo intercooled flat-six, 6-speed manual transmission, hydraulic steering and rear-wheel drive. To put Singer's diversity of offering into perspective: powertrains range from bespoke naturally aspirated flat-sixes (from 3.6 to 4.0 L, up to 500 hp) to extreme variants like the DLS Turbo, with 3.8 L twin-turbo engines generating more than 700 hp.

How much do these two 911s cost?

This is THE subject that turns heads. Officially, nothing has leaked. Louis Vuitton and Singer have not disclosed the prices of either commission.

But estimates are circulating. According to several sources citing The Times, each bespoke 911 would be worth more than 2.5 million pounds (around 3.4 million dollars). Watch and automotive expert Simon de Burton, writing for The Times, expects them to sell for around 2.5 million pounds each.

To understand the scale: standard commissions for a Singer Classic Study generally start between 650,000 and 850,000 dollars, while Turbo and DLS builds regularly climb from a million dollars. In other words, these two Louis Vuitton examples sit in a category of their own, even within Singer's already rarefied universe.

Turismo vs Singer: two visions of exceptional motoring

Two opposing philosophies: the collector's piece and flexible access.Singer

These two Porsches belong to the world of the unique piece, that of absolute ownership. At the opposite end, premium car subscription offers another way to access the pleasure of driving: without tying up capital, without resale, without long-term commitment. The comparison below puts these two logics into perspective.

  • Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer x Louis Vuitton (Classic): naturally aspirated 4.0 L flat-six 390 hp, 964 base, carbon fiber body, unique piece, estimated price around 2.5 million pounds, definitive acquisition and a purchase tying up the entire capital.
  • Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer x Louis Vuitton (Classic Turbo): 3.8 L twin-turbo flat-six 510 hp, ivory white cabriolet, 964 base, unique piece, estimated price around 2.5 million pounds, definitive acquisition and collector's logic.
  • Turismo subscription (all-inclusive premium approach): monthly access to a high-end vehicle, insurance, maintenance and assistance included, flexibility to change model, no multi-million contribution or resale management.

Verdict: the Singer x Louis Vuitton cars are rolling works of art destined for a handful of collectors who, literally, already have everything. They compare to nothing and that is precisely their raison d'etre. For everyone who wants to drive premium every day without freezing a colossal amount of capital, subscription remains the most rational answer. Two worlds, two needs, no losers.

A wardrobe and a lifestyle rather than two cars?

The originality of the project lies in the fact that it is not only about vehicles, but about a complete universe. Buyers receive highly personalized air-cooled 911s, plus matching Louis Vuitton luggage and equipment.

The inventory of accessories is worth a look. It includes a racing jacket, unique shoes, the LV Remix Derby, perforated cobalt blue driving gloves and a carbon and fiberglass helmet with calf leather trim. Even the bell-shaped key fob and the car keys themselves are bespoke. Each object extends the car, and each car extends a wardrobe.
