Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake 2026: boot space, range and versions
455 litres of boot space, up to 1,290 litres with the rear seats folded, an electric version and a hybrid version. What to know about the new CLA Shooting Brake, based on figures from Mercedes and from our configurator.

The new Mercedes CLA now has an estate version, the CLA Shooting Brake. Unveiled in July 2025, it reached Europe in 2026, as an electric car and as a hybrid.
It is built around space, both on board and in the boot. Here is what its boot holds, how far the electric version goes, what sets the versions and trims apart, and how we offer it.
- of boot space, rear seats up
- 455litres
- of WLTP range at best on our cars
- 748km
- from 10 to 80% on a rapid charger
- 22min
How big is the CLA Shooting Brake's boot?
The tailgate opens onto a 455-litre boot, which grows to 1,290 litres when you fold the rear seats. The electric version adds a second boot under the bonnet.
- Rear boot
455 litres, up to 1,290 litres with the seats folded - Front boot on the electric version
101 litres - Roof rails as standard, with up to 75 kg of roof load
- Towing
up to 1,500 kg for the rear-wheel-drive electric version

That is 50 litres more than the CLA saloon, and its large tailgate makes loading much easier. The electric version's front boot takes the charging cables, so you do not have to store them under the suitcases.

What range does the electric CLA Shooting Brake offer?
The electric CLA 250+ carries a battery with 85 kWh of usable capacity. Mercedes quotes up to 761 km under the WLTP standard. On the cars we offer, our configurator shows the exact range of each combination, which depends mainly on the wheels.
- 18-inch wheels
748 km WLTP - 18-inch AMG wheels
745 km WLTP - 19-inch AMG wheels with a bronze rim
719 km WLTP - 19-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels
704 km WLTP
Consumption ranges from 13.1 to 14 kWh per 100 km depending on the wheels. In real life, in winter, on the motorway or with a trailer, real-world range drops well below these figures, as with any electric car. They remain very high for an estate of this size.
How long does it take to charge?
The electric CLA Shooting Brake uses an 800-volt architecture and accepts up to 320 kW on a suitable rapid charger.
- From 10 to 80% in 22 minutes on a rapid charger
- From 270 to 320 km of range added in 10 minutes
- 11 kW on alternating current, or about 9 hours for a full charge at home

One night on a wallbox is therefore enough to set off with a full battery. On a long journey, a coffee stop at a rapid charger gives back several hundred kilometres.
Electric or hybrid, which versions?
We offer two powertrains, both new and in stock.
- Electric CLA 250+
272 hp, rear-wheel drive, 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 s, 210 km/h - Hybrid CLA 180
136 hp petrol engine helped by a 30 hp electric motor, front-wheel drive, 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 s, 215 km/h, 5.2 to 5.4 l per 100 km
The CLA 180 does not plug in. Its 48-volt hybrid system houses an electric motor in the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. In town, when little power is needed, it drives without starting the petrol engine, and it recovers energy every time you brake.
The electric version suits you if you can charge at home or at work. The hybrid makes sense if you drive long distances without reliable chargers or cannot install a socket. Mercedes also builds an all-wheel-drive CLA 350 4MATIC, quoted at up to 730 km WLTP, which we do not offer for now.
Which trim should you choose?
Our CLA Shooting Brakes come in five trims, from the most understated to the sportiest.
- Progressive and Business Line
comfort seats, ambient lighting, keyless start and wireless phone charging - AMG Line
AMG exterior styling, sports seats, nappa leather steering wheel and AMG wheels - AMG Line Plus
on top of that, 19-inch AMG wheels, dark rear windows and red seat belts - Edition
cosmos black magno paint, black leather and gold-coloured trim
Depending on the car, a more complete package adds a head-up display, MULTIBEAM LED headlights and Burmester sound. All our cars have the panoramic glass roof, and the car's page lists the equipment of each one.

Shooting Brake or CLA saloon?
Both body styles have the same length, 4.72 m, and the same 2.79 m wheelbase. The difference is all at the back.
- Boot
455 litres for the Shooting Brake, 405 litres for the saloon, with the same 101-litre front boot on the electric versions - Access
a large tailgate on the Shooting Brake, a conventional boot lid on the saloon - Range
up to 761 km WLTP for the electric Shooting Brake, up to 792 km for the saloon, according to Mercedes
The saloon goes a little further. The Shooting Brake makes life easier as soon as you need to load a pushchair, a dismantled bike or luggage for four.
